The MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) handed Tokyo Olympics qualifier Carlos Yulo much-needed financial support as his bid for the gold medal gets underway.
An amount of 800,000 pesos was given to Yulo and his team who are currently in Japan for his intensive training.
The money given to Yulo will be used to cover expenses for his rent, team salaries for his physiotherapist, nutritionist, and sports psychologist as part of Team Yulo heading into the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
MVPSF cash donation was transacted and is under the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), the organization that foresees Yulo.
“The MVPSF wants to make sure that our athletes still get the best training possible even as we face the current COVID-19 pandemic,” said MVPSF president Al S. Panlilio.
Considered to be one of the country’s sports gems after dominating the recently concluded 30th Southeast Asian Games in gymnastics, Yulo is working hard to give the PH the first-ever gold in Olympics history.
“We’re hopeful that this also puts Caloy’s mind at ease because we wanted to show him that we’re behind him all the way. His sole focus should be on his quest to win an Olympic medal and we’ll do our best to take care of the rest,” added Panlilio.
