Mutilated human body parts were found morning of Nov. 6 in two districts in Iloilo City.
Police first received reports of two dismembered arms found at Zone 2, Barangay Ticud, La Paz around 6:10 a.m.
Reports indicated that a certain Adver Adolos was on his way to his farm when he saw a sack in the area.
Thinking that it contained feeds, he checked and was surprised to see two arms.
Lieutenant Greg Matutino, La Paz police chief, said that the Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) team believed that the arms were newly cut because the flesh was still “reddish.”
Not long after, police received reports of a body found in Zone 1, Barangay Buhang, Jaro district.
Reports said that security guard Tirso Acosta of Visayas Saz Security Agency found another sack while he was on roving inspection at the foreclosed property at around 8:30 a.m.
Acosta no longer opened the sack after he saw a foot protruding from it.
The body was armless and headless. The victim was also wearing underwear and had tattoos all over his body.
On top of the sack was a note that read, “Ibalik ang kamay na bakal. Babala sa mga pusher (Reinstate iron hands. Warning to pushers).”
The note also included the words “PDU 30” with a signature on top of the name and the greetings “Merry Christmas 2023.”
Major Eduardo Siacon Jr., Iloilo City Police Station 3 chief, said it’s likely possible that the headless torso and arms found in Jaro and La Paz belonged to one person.
Police patrolled several areas hoping to find the other missing part – the head – so they could identify the victim.
Siacon said Buhang is around 3 kilometers from Ticud.
“Whoever did this could have selected these two areas because they are secluded, with no houses in the immediate vicinity,” he said.
As this developed, the leadership of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) ordered an in-depth investigation into the incident.
Colonel Joeresty Coronica, Iloilo City Police chief, said that killing, a brutal one at that, has no place in Iloilo City.
He assured the public that ICPO would be closely looking into the incident to identify the owner and bring the perpetrators to Justice.
“In due time, we will identify who the victim is and we can determine the motive behind the crime,” he said.
As this developed, both the ICPS2 and ICPS3 are gathering CCTV camera footage to aid in their investigation.
