A 37-year-old man accused of murder was arrested at a police checkpoint evening of March 29, 2023 in Roxas City, Capiz.
Ruel de Mayo, a resident of Sitio Agaratong, Barangay Maalan, Maayon, Capiz, was driving his Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle when he passed by a police checkpoint at Barangay Adlawan, Roxas City around 9:30 p.m. of Wednesday.
Members of the 1st Maneuver Platoon of the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company flagged de Mayo since his motorcycle lacked a registration plate.
Police also got wind of a report that de Mayo had a standing arrest.
A check of police records indicated that de Mayo is the respondent to a murder charge docketed as Criminal Case No. C-259-20.
Executive Judge Esperanza Isabela E Poco-Deslate of the 6th Regional Trial Court Branch 19 in Roxas City, Capiz, issued the arrest warrant on April 8, 2021.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
De Mayo is the No. 2 most wanted person of Maayon.
When frisked, police recovered from de Mayo a caliber .9mm pistol loaded with 17 ammunition.
Aside from the murder case, the suspect would also be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 ((Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
