Murder Suspect Arrested After Decade in Hiding

KABANKALAN CITY—The Kabankalan Component City Police Station arrested a murder suspect who had been in hiding for nearly a decade on January 9, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in Barangay Hilamonan, Negros Occidental.
The suspect, identified as alias Timoy, 42, and a resident of Barangay Tan-awan in Kabankalan City, was apprehended based on a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Branch 61 of the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, on August 18, 2014. No bail was recommended.
“The arrest of this fugitive clearly signifies Police Regional Office 6’s firm commitment to pursuing wanted persons in the region. May this operation serve as a stern warning to those still at large to surrender and face the charges against them because the long arm of the law will catch them,” said Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of PRO-6.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will be turned over to the concerned court.
