Bacolod City – The recent relief of the chief of police of Murcia town must serve as a warning to other police chiefs in the region, Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan said.
Pamuspusan, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 director, ordered the relief of Murcia town police chief, Police Major Roberto Indiape.
Pamuspusan said Indiape’s relief was due to his failure to discuss the illegal drug situation of the town.
He added that he warned all police chiefs in the region to be knowledgeable of the illegal drug trade situation in their areas.
Pamuspusan also confirmed that he conducted a surprise visit to Murcia Municipal Police Station and found the station dirty with pillows strewn all over the station’s finance office.
“Police chiefs should prioritize maintaining the cleanliness of their backyard first. If they can’t discipline their own men, and they do not know what their targets are then what is your right to become chief of police in the area?” he added.
Pamuspusan said maintaining cleanliness inside the station is a must with all documents properly filed and all logistical services organized.
