The Mt. Napulak Plant Hike Clean, now on its third year, continues to bring together nature lovers for a purpose-driven trek in Iloilo province.
Organized by a group of local guides from Brgy. Bagay in Igbaras town, the initiative combines a cleanup drive with a tree planting activity, transforming a recreational hike into a meaningful environmental mission.
Participants include local hikers and guides led by Mr. Renan Vicente of Bagay, environmental advocates, and friends who share a commitment to preserving the natural beauty of Mt. Napulak.
This 2025, the Rotary Club of Midtown Iloilo has proudly joined the event, supporting Rotary International’s area of focus on protecting the environment.
“The Rotary Club of Midtown Iloilo is proud to take part in this worthy endeavor,” said Kurt Maurice Tugaff of RC Midtown Iloilo, who is also a mountaineer and hiking enthusiast.
Originally scheduled for July, the activity was postponed due to intermittent weather conditions and updated local tourism guidelines.
Despite the rescheduling, community enthusiasm for the initiative remains high, with volunteers eager to contribute to sustainable tourism and ecological conservation.
The Mt. Napulak Plant Hike Clean not only promotes responsible outdoor recreation but also strengthens grassroots engagement in environmental stewardship.
