BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider died after he figured in a road accident at Purok Malunggay, Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Killed in the accident was Efren Centena of the said village.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, city police chief, said Centena lost control of his motorcycle and swerved before hitting the front part of a pick-up truck that was parked in the area.
Malong said Centena was suffering from hypertension. His right leg was severed because of the impact.
The victim was not also wearing a helmet, she added.
Centena was taken to a hospital and was later moved to another hospital here where he passed away, according to Malong.
Malong said that both parties had an initial settlement.
