BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider died in a road accident at Purok Gemilina, Barangay Kumaliskis, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police identified the victim as Emil June Largavista, 34, of Barangay Bunga.
Police Staff Sergeant Ramon Juablar, traffic investigator, said Largavista was allegedly speeding on his way home when he lost control of his motorcycle while approaching a bridge.
“Dulhugon na da abi kay pakadto na taytay, na alang-alang siya mag slow down, amo to na tumba siya sa motor,” he added.
Juablar said the victim hit his head on the ground and died later at a hospital despite wearing a helmet.
Juablar said the victim’s motorcycle overshot to the opposite lane, where a wingvan truck loaded with softdrinks was approaching.
The truck driver was detained, but was released the following day after investigation indicated that he had no accountability for the accident, Juablar said.
“It so happened na approaching siya sa area, pero wala niya na igo ang victim, though ang motor nag suhot sa dalom sang truck,” he added.
