BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider was killed after he collided with a dump truck in Barangay Tortosa, Manapla, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police identified the victim as Dece Prince Elmission, 26, of Sagay City.
Captain Jaynick Bermudez, town police chief, said the alleged speeding motorcycle reportedly encroached the lane of the truck driven by John Lester Medel, 27, of Bago City which caused the head-on collision.
Elmission was declared dead on arrival at a hospital while Medel was under police custody, pending a settlement or filing of charges.
Bermudez said they suspect that the victim might have dozed off.
“Naglapaw gid siya sa lane,” he added.
However, police could not tell if the victim was under the influence of liquor when it happened.
