BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider died after colliding with a Mitsubishi Lancer at Burgos extension, Barangay Estefania here Tuesday.
Police identified the fatality as James Cloud Nieze of Barangay Taculing.
Police Major Charles Gever, head of Police Station 4, said car driver Percival Andrada, 45, of Barangay Mansilingan was about to make a left turn when Nieze’s motorcycle reportedly crashed into the front left side of the car.
The accident happened around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday.

Gever said Nieze died on the spot due to head injuries, although he was wearing a helmet.
“He (victim) was thrown off his motorcycle due to the impact,” he added.
Gever said that Andrada, who was unharmed in the accident, is now in police custody.
Police are still waiting for the Nieze family’s decision on the filing of charges against Andrada.
Gever said Andrada will be released if no charges are filed against him after 18 hours of detention.
