BACOLOD CITY – A 62-year-old foreman lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a jeepney along Circumferential Road in Barangay Mandalagan on Saturday morning.
The victim was identified as Jose Nestor Bangcaya, a resident of the same barangay.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), stated that the accident occurred around 8 a.m. while Bangcaya was on his way home.
According to Sarona, Bangcaya reportedly overlapped into the opposite lane to overtake a vehicle, leading to the collision.

Sarona confirmed that the driver was released after the 36-hour reglementary detention period elapsed.
He also disclosed that both parties have reached an initial settlement.
