BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider died after he crashed with a mixer truck in front of the Bacolod City Government Center here last Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as James Leonel Hernando.
Police Major Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 4, said Hernando was approaching a curved part of the road when he collided with a mixer truck driven by 31-year-old Mayo Hillana.
Hernando allegedly encroached the truck’s lane. Due to the impact, the victim was pinned underneath the truck.
Gohee said that it took a while for rescuers to remove Hernando from beneath the truck.
Hernando was then taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, Gohee said that Hillana, a resident of Valladolid, Negros Occidental was placed under police custody pending the filing of charges against him.
