ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A motorcycle rider was found dead early Wednesday morning, April 8, in Sitio Bitayan, Barangay Esperanza, Jamindan, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as alias “Mark Vince,” 19, a resident of Barangay Mianay, Sigma, Capiz.
A bystander reportedly saw the victim at about 5:30 a.m. lying near a motorcycle and immediately alerted the rescue team in Jamindan.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Jamindan responded and brought the victim to the nearest hospital.
He was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.
An investigation by the Jamindan police said the victim was on his way home from Barangay Caridad, Jamindan, at about 10 p.m. when he allegedly hit a steel post owned by the Capiz Electric Cooperative.
Police said no one responded at the time because it was dark and the incident went unnoticed.
Police are continuing the investigation.
