Motorcycle Rider Dies in Pototan Road Crash

A motorcycle rider was killed in a road crash early on March 16 in Pototan, Iloilo.
Mark Vincent, 25, a resident of Barangay Madarag, San Enrique, Iloilo, died shortly after his motorcycle collided with a Ceres bus.
While traveling through Barangay Rumbang, Pototan, at around 4:36 a.m. Sunday, Vincent attempted to overtake another vehicle.
He allegedly crashed into a passenger bus traveling in the opposite direction.
The bus had departed from the Ceres terminal in Jaro, Iloilo City, and was en route to Barangay Caticlan, Malay, Aklan, when the incident occurred.
Police said Vincent was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the middle of the road.
He sustained head and body injuries.
Vincent was taken to Iloilo Provincial Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The bus driver, Wilver Matillano of Barangay Cahaguichican, Pototan, was taken into police custody after the incident.
