Motorcycle rider dies in Dao road crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A motorcycle rider died after colliding with a truck Saturday afternoon, July 18, in Barangay Nasunogan, Dao, Capiz.
An initial investigation by the Dao Municipal Police Station showed that the truck, driven by a man identified only as alias “Franz” of Baybay City, Leyte, was traveling from Sigma toward Cuartero, Capiz.
Police said the truck collided with a Yamaha Sniper motorcycle driven by alias “Nonoy,” a legal-age resident of Numancia, Aklan.
The rider suffered fatal injuries to his head and other parts of his body because of the impact.
Responders took him to the Senator Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao, where an attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
Police took custody of the truck and motorcycle for further investigation and proper disposition.
Authorities have not said whether charges would be filed in connection with the crash.
