A motorcycle driver died after a road crash on the evening of June 9 in Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
Police identified the victim only as alias James, 35, a resident of Barangay Agmanaphao, Mina, Iloilo.
Reports said James was driving a Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle when it collided with a Toyota Hilux pickup truck at the intersection of Barangay Bita-og Taytay, Santa Barbara.
Police said Gilbert, 60, was driving home from Dueñas town to Zone 5, Barangay San Jose, San Miguel, Iloilo, when the crash happened.
James sustained injuries to his body and left leg following the collision.
Members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-ALERTO Santa Barbara brought him to Iloilo Provincial Hospital for initial treatment.
He was later transferred to Western Visayas Medical Center for further medical attention.
James died while undergoing treatment shortly after midnight on June 10.
Gilbert was placed under the custody of the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station following the incident.
