Motorcycle driver killed in road mishap

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 24-year-old driver died after the motorcycle he was driving accidentally collided with a delivery van Thursday evening, Oct. 6, at the national highway in Barangay Nasunogan Dao, Capiz.
The police identified the victim as Pocholo Antonio of Brgy. Sto. Rosario, Dumalag, Capiz.
Investigation by Dao Municipal Police Station indicated that the victim was on his way home from Sigma town when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with an Isuzu freezer van driven by Tirso Pillas, 51, of Brgy Punta, Jalajala in Rizal province together with his crew.
Because of the strong impact, the victim succumbed to fatal injuries in different parts of his body at Mambusao District Hospital.
Pillas’ colleague Alwin Estrella sustained minor injuries.
The van driver is in the custody of Dao police.
