ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 39-year-old mother drowned while swimming in a river Wednesday morning in Sitio Pulos, Barangay Najus-an, Mambusao.
Police identified the victim as “Lyn-lyn,” a farmer and resident of the area.
According to Mambusao police, the victim was swimming with her two minor children when one of them noticed she was struggling in the water.
The child attempted to help but was unable to rescue her due to her size.
The child sought help from nearby residents, who pulled the victim from the river.
She was rushed to Mambusao District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
