BACOLOD City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police seized an estimated P851,483 worth of illegal drugs in various areas here and in Negros Occidental from July 9 to 13.
P730,600 worth of suspected shabu and suspected marijuana were confiscated here, while P120,883 worth of suspected shabu were seized in the province.
In Bacolod, eight persons were arrested in Barangays 2, Villamonte, Taculing, and Bata, following the buy-bust operations conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), PDEA-Negros Occidental, and Police Stations 2 and 5.
The biggest drug haul here was reported on July 10 at Barangay Villamonte with the recovery of P204,000 worth of suspected shabu and P600 worth of suspected marijuana.
In the province, 11 persons were apprehended in the cities of Silay, Victorias, Bago, La Carlota, Talisay, and Escalante, and the towns of Binalbagan, Toboso, and E.B. Magalona.
Law enforcers remain aggressive in their anti-drug war amid the ongoing health crisis brought by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
