BACOLOD City – Thirteen persons were arrested while P369,468 worth of suspected shabu was seized in Negros Occidental from Jan. 21 to 22, 2022.
Some P265,200 worth of the said contraband was confiscated in a buy-bust in Binalbagan town last Saturday.
Arrested was Aris Teruel, 47, of Barangay Payao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Ellendie Rebusquillo, town police chief, said Teruel is considered a high value individual because of the volume of the recovered illegal drugs.
Rebusquillo said Teruel is a watch listed drug personality in the town as he allegedly supplies illegal drugs in the said village and other neighboring barangays in the town.
Rebusquillo said that Teruel told the police that he allegedly sourced the contraband from Bacolod, then repacks it for distribution.
“Daw supplier naman siya,” the police chief added.
He said that Teruel was placed under monitoring since 2019.
Teruel, who has yet to be reached for comment, will be facing drug charges.
Aside from that, anti-illegal drug operations were also conducted in the cities of Silay, Himamaylan, San Carlos, and Cadiz, and the towns of Toboso, Don Salvador Benedicto, and Ilog.
