More than 32,000 minors have already received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines while some are already scheduled for their second dose this week.
As of Nov 21, 2021, a total of 32,063 children aged 12 to 17 years old have received their jabs, based on the data from the Iloilo City government. The city’s aims to vaccinate 50,000 minors this month.
The vaccine rollout for minors in Iloilo City started Oct 29. Aside from residents, the city also opened its mega vaccination sites to non-resident minors who are studying in the city.
Later on, Iloilo City intensified its vaccination to minors by opening the sites during weekdays.
The city will continue its pediatric vaccination this week from Nov 23 to 26 at designated vaccination sites.
Parents or guardians with authorization letters should accompany minors to the sites.
They are advised to bring with them the birth certificate of the minor, original copy from Local Civil Registrar (LCR) or Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) formerly NSO.
Vaccination will start at 8 a.m. until supplies last. The city government is currently using Pfizer vaccines for minors. (ERS)
