MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power), the distribution utility serving Iloilo City and parts of Iloilo province, was named grand winner of the Apex Company of the Year award at the 17th Asia CEO Awards 2026, held at the Manila Marriott Hotel on October 13.
MORE Power was chosen from nine Circle of Excellence awardees in the category. The other eight were Acquire Intelligence, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Concentrix Philippines, Datamatics Global Services, Pag-IBIG Fund, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, Robinsons Land Corporation and SixEleven Global Services and Solutions, Inc.
Presenting the award, Microsourcing CEO Heidi Enriquez and Philippine country leader Mikey de la Peña described it as a “supreme award” for companies “whose success has had an impact beyond their own organization,” whose performance “goes far beyond profitability,” and calls for visionary leadership.
The citation praised organizations that “elevate the nation through game-changing innovation, meaningful inclusion and enduring societal impact.”
Accepting the award, MORE Power President and CEO Roel Castro thanked the organizers, the board of judges, the company’s senior management and its customers.
“As an electric distribution utility, sometimes customers think that they don’t have any choice,” Castro said. “But in our case, we tried to give our best, even if we have the franchise. We still make sure that we give our best to our customers in terms of rates, as well as in terms of service.”
Castro was also among the Circle of Excellence awardees for CEO of the Year.
The win follows MORE Power’s selection as the 2025 CSR Company of the Year at the same awards.
MORE Power began operating the Iloilo City distribution franchise on February 28, 2020, under a 25-year franchise later expanded to cover Iloilo and Passi cities and 15 municipalities. Company-reported system loss fell to about 4.7 percent by October 2025 from roughly 30 percent. The Department of Energy cited the utility in April 2026 for grid monitoring and outage prevention.
The Asia CEO Awards, presented by Santé, has 15 categories this year. Submissions are validated by accounting firm PwC and judged by a panel.
