MORE Power employees plant 500 narra trees in Alimodian

ALIMODIAN, Iloilo — More than 50 employees of MORE Electric and Power Corp. planted 500 narra tree saplings on Agony Hill in Alimodian, Iloilo, as part of the company’s environmental initiatives.
Employees carried the saplings up the steep slopes of Agony Hill despite the heat during the tree-planting activity.
The initiative was conducted in coordination with the Alimodian Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office and the local government of Alimodian.
“This activity reflects MORE Power’s core commitment to environmental responsibility. Every year, we conduct similar initiatives to engage with our consumers and demonstrate that MORE Power goes beyond delivering quality service as a distribution utility but also extending its efforts for the community. We would like to extend our gratitude to the cooperation of the Alimodian Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office headed by, Engineer Reno Alquisada and most especially to Mayor Ian Kenneth Alfeche for allowing us to execute this activity,” said MORE Power Chief Operating Officer Ronald Torres.
MORE Power has conducted community programs, including tree-planting activities, in Iloilo City and Iloilo province, where its distribution service now covers towns such as Alimodian.
“It is very important to have this kind of activity. Since MORE Power started here in Iloilo City, various activities and partnerships with LGU and other stakeholders have been conducted. We will continue to support initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and strengthen community partnerships”, said Engineer Torres.
The company said it has planted 14,000 tree saplings in Iloilo City through various community initiatives, surpassing its commitment to plant 10,000 trees after taking over power distribution in the city.
MORE Power said it plans to continue similar activities in Iloilo City and the province as part of efforts to support greener communities, biodiversity conservation and long-term environmental resilience.
