No unscheduled power interruption or any electricity-related incidents occurred in the franchise area of MORE Power in Iloilo City, especially in canvassing and polling centers on election day.
Recently, MORE Power President and CEO Mr. Roel Castro assured the adequate and reliable power supply during the said elections.
Distribution utilities like MORE Power were mandated by the national government, particularly the Department of Energy (DOE), to maintain reliable and uninterrupted supply of electricity during the said elections which is necessary to power the vote counting machines and transmittal of election results.
MORE Power also created a Task Force Election for the delivery of adequate, stable and reliable power supply before, during and after the national and local elections.
Among the strategies undertaken by MORE Power prior to the election dates are preventive maintenance of all power facilities, clearing of lines, replacement of defective poles, and over-loaded distribution transformers.
Coordination with the school’s representative was also undertaken to determine their respective needs.
“I would like to congratulate everyone for a very, very successful work we did in ensuring the unhampered flow of electricity during the campaign period and on the day of election, canvassing and transmission,” Castro said.
Effective 8 am Tuesday, MORE Power said it was back to normal operations.
“Since the canvassing and transmission of results is very close to 100%, lets get back to normal status now,” Castro added.
