BACOLOD City – Four additional policemen will be deployed every weekend to monitor and check the compliance of resort owners in Barangay Punta Taytay here with minimum health protocols amid the rising of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases here.
Police Major Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 9, said that two more police officers will be added to the two beat patrollers assigned in the area, and two mobile patrolmen will also be deployed to the area for patrol duties, particularly every weekend when people gather in resorts.
Gohee said they met with the resort owners last Monday to remind them to strictly follow and observe the health protocols such as wearing of face masks and face shields, and social distancing.
Gohee said they also encourage resort owners to assign a marshal to ensure that people inside their vicinity adhere to the protocols.
Resort owners were also told to install a signboard if they already reached 50 percent capacity to prevent walk-in customers or clients from insisting to enter the vicinity and avoid overcrowding.
Gohee said they already have the names of the marshals in each resort so that they can easily coordinate with them in case violations are committed.
He said resort owners were also urged to assign a person at the entrance for the contact tracing efforts – like the BacTrac registration and logbook, accompanied by an Identification card to ensure the identity of their clients.
Resort owners agreed to comply with the protocols and will coordinate with the authorities.
Meanwhile, the station commander said that cafe owners at the area of Police Station 5 covering Barangays Granada and Alangilan are also scheduled for a meeting with the police and barangay officials regarding the same matter.
He said they are preparing the deployment of policemen in resorts in time for the holy week.
