BACOLOD City – Police are probing the motive behind the death of a money lender at Sitio Amparo, Barangay Mabini, Escalante City, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Wilfredo Turno, 50, of Barangay Balintawak succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Lieutenant Colonel Rocky Desear, city police chief, said Turno was driving his motorcycle while his son was riding a passenger tricycle when four unidentified persons on two separate motorcycles allegedly tailed the victim from Toboso town.
Upon reaching Mabini village, the perpetrators, whose faces were covered with bonnets and face masks, overtook the victim’s motorcycle and shot him several times.
“Binaril iyong tatay, nung pagbasak na sa ground, binaril pa ulit,” Desear said.
Police recovered from the scene seven cases of .45-caliber ammunition.
Desear said the victim’s son failed to recognize the perpetratrors who reportedly fled towards the mountainous area of Sitio Tanquinto, Barangay Mabini, Escalante City.
Police could not confirm yet if the killing had something to do with the victim’s business.
