DUBAI, UAE – 971 Fighting Championship (971FC) returns in spectacular fashion with a blockbuster main event set for June 14, 2025, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, headlined by an explosive bantamweight clash between Muhammad Mokaev and Alisher Gabdullin.
The undefeated Muhammad “The Punisher” Mokaev (14-0, 1 NC), widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in global mixed martial arts, will face off against Kazakhstan’s surging contender Alisher Gabdullin (15-4) in a bout that pits two rising stars in a career-defining showdown.
“This is more than a fight — it’s an international collision of fighting cultures,” said 971FC founder and former UFC athlete Mounir Lazzez, who described the bout as a masterclass in elite MMA.
Mokaev, born in Dagestan and raised in Manchester, brings Olympic-caliber wrestling and relentless grappling pressure, a skill set that has made him a dominant force in the flyweight division and a future global superstar in the making.
“Mokaev isn’t here just to win,” organizers said. “He’s here to dominate — and to show the world why he is considered the next unstoppable force in MMA.”
Gabdullin, a formidable striker from Kazakhstan, enters the cage with a reputation for explosive finishes and a wrestling base forged in one of Central Asia’s toughest fight circuits.
With 8 of his 15 wins coming by stoppage, Gabdullin is seen as a dangerous challenge for Mokaev, especially as he comes in with nothing to lose and everything to gain.
While Mokaev carries the weight of global expectations, Gabdullin thrives in the role of underdog, a combination that sets the stage for a dramatic and unpredictable main event.
The June 14 card will feature 14 action-packed bouts, with the full lineup to be announced in the coming weeks, highlighting both international fighters and regional rising stars.
Founded by Tunisian trailblazer Mounir Lazzez, 971FC is more than a fight promotion — it’s a movement aimed at elevating martial arts in the Middle East, promoting values such as respect, courage, and humility.
“971FC is committed to more than just hosting events — we’re about building generations and contributing to the growth of MMA and martial arts in the UAE,” Lazzez said.
Following a sold-out debut last year at The Agenda, 971FC now takes over the iconic Coca-Cola Arena, promising an even bigger and bolder spectacle that blends elite athleticism with world-class production.
“June 14th will be a night to remember,” Lazzez added. “Two incredible fighters, each with their own remarkable journey, in one arena where history will be made.”
With Mokaev eyeing global superstardom and Gabdullin aiming to shock the world, fans are bracing for what could be the most anticipated MMA bout of 2025 in the Gulf region.
