BACOLOD CITY — The Municipality of Moises Padilla has earmarked a PHP 50 million development fund for 2026 to finance major infrastructure, economic, social, and environmental programs aimed at improving public services and local development.
The proposed projects include road and bridge construction and rehabilitation, environmental protection initiatives, and education-focused programs that enhance literacy and numeracy among the youth.
Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo presented the plan during a recent meeting of the Municipal Development Council (MDC), where the council discussed the allocation of funds under the 2026 Annual Investment Program.
The proposed fund distribution is as follows: Infrastructure Services — PHP 24 million; Economic Services — PHP 14 million; Social Services — PHP 8 million; Other Services — PHP 2.6 million; Environmental Management — PHP 2.1 million.
Garcia-Yulo said the allocation also includes the amortization payment for the municipality’s heavy equipment to sustain ongoing infrastructure works.
The MDC, chaired by Mayor Garcia-Yulo and supported by Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo “Pimpoy” Yulo III, is the town’s primary planning and policy-making body under the Local Government Code of 1991.
Its members include all barangay captains, representatives from civic groups, and the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), which serves as the secretariat.
Mayor Garcia-Yulo emphasized that the 2026 investment plan reflects the local government’s commitment to transparent and responsible fund management, ensuring that every peso is used for projects that directly uplift the lives of Moises Padilla residents.
