Master Sgt. Jessie Cabial Jr. of the Iloilo City Police Office–Traffic Enforcement Unit said the driver, identified as “Conrado,” died on the morning of Oct. 12.
The supervisor of the 57-year-old driver informed police about his death on Sunday.
Conrado was driving a modernized jeepney along Avanceña Street in Barangay Poblacion, Molo, at around 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 10 when the incident happened.
Conrado, a resident of Upper Bicutan, Taguig City, who was staying in Molo district, was rushed to a hospital where he died two days later.
The incident also killed a cyclist.
The cyclist, identified as “Noel,” 58, of Avanceña Village in Dulonan, Arevalo, was hit by the modernized jeepney.
Cabial said the vehicle dragged the cyclist for at least 10 meters before ramming into a bollard of a gasoline station.
Noel sustained multiple abrasions and complained of hip and stomach pain.
He underwent surgery but died at 10:40 a.m. the same day.
