BACOLOD City – A pedicab driver was found dead in a river at Purok Maninihon, Barangay Pahanocoy here yesterday, a few minutes after he was reported missing by his family that day.
Captain Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 8, identified the fatality as Eric Barabad, 49, of the said village.
Vargas said the victim’s family reported to the police that he’s been missing for three days now. He was last seen by his family morning of August 31, she added.
Barabad had bruises on his chin and right arm when found by some residents in the area, Vargas said, adding that the victim may have drowned in the river.
Vargas said they could not tell if there was foul play in his death or if he died due to an accident.
She said the family has refused to subject the victim to autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
