Missing elderly woman found dead in Jaro

An elderly woman who was reported missing was found dead on the afternoon of Sept. 6 in Jaro, Iloilo City.
The body of Juanita Delos Santos, 66, was discovered near her boarding house at Zone 5, Uswag Village, Barangay San Isidro, Jaro.
Police reports indicated that her body was lying in a swampy area and was already in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Delos Santos was reported missing by her family on the afternoon of Sept. 4.
Shortly before the body was discovered, her daughter, Josie Delos Santos, 29, of Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, visited her mother’s boarding house.
Before she could enter, a resident shouted that a dead person had been found behind the house.
When Josie checked, she found the body of her mother.
Reports stated that the victim had suffered from hypertension and had a stroke in 2019.
Authorities are considering conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
