ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The family of a 55-year-old man is seeking justice following allegations that three minors beat him to death at Barangay Poblacion, Pilar, Capiz.
Wennie Lachica said they want justice for her brother Jonathan Lachica who was found dead Thursday morning, July 7, in his bed.
She said her brother was on his way home from a wake of a relative about 10pm of July 5 when three minors blocked his path and manhandled him.
The minors were aged 14 to 17 years old and residents of Barangays San Fernando and Cayus of said town.
Despite being drunk and the injuries he suffered, Wennie said her brother managed to go home.
Wennie said the minors admitted beating the victim after they got hit with pieces of liquor bottle which the victim threw when drunk.
The family is decided to file legal action against the suspects who are in the custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Pilar.
The family of the minor suspects have yet to comment on the accusations.
