BACOLOD City – A male teenager was arrested for carnapping at Barangay Zone 4, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Personnel of Talisay City Police Station served the bench warrant against a 17-year-old boy of Barangay Zone 6, whose name was withheld.
The warrant was issued by Judge Edwin Gomez of Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Bacolod City on December 11, 2019. No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom.
The minor-suspect is presently under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Balay Pasilungan.
Meanwhile, three persons, including a 17-year-old boy were arrested for alleged direct assault and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition at Hacienda Remedios, Barangay Balabag, La Carlota City last Wednesday.
Police identified the two suspects as Edilito Salazar, 27, and Michael Camilo, 36, both residents of Barangay Balabag, while the minor’s identity was withheld.
Investigation indicated that some watchmen sighted one of the suspects allegedly armed with a homemade 12-gauge shotgun with two live ammunitions while having a drinking session with his two companions.
The armed suspect tried to escape through the help of his two companions, but they were all subdued.
Salazar and Camilo were under police custody while the minor was turned over to the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD).
