BACOLOD City – A man who was trying to pacify a commotion was reportedly stabbed by an alleged minor in a funeral wake at Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Wounded was Roland Kataywa, 20, of Barangay Minoyan.
Police Major Roberto Indiape Jr., town police chief, said Kataywa was attending a wake when his cousin got involved in a fistfight with a group.
Kataywa tried to pacify his cousin and some unidentified men when he got stabbed by a knife.
The members of the said group fled, leaving Kataywa wounded while his cousin was unharmed.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
Indiape said Kataywa is already stable at the hospital, and police already have a person of interest behind the incident.
