Minor shot dead in front of store

BACOLOD City – A 16-year-old boy was shot to death by three persons in front of a sari-sari store at Phase 6B, Barangay Handumanan here on Aug 27, 2019.

Killed was John Martin Ronamo of the said village.

Police Captain Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 10, said Ronamo was walking with a group of minors when they came across the group of Jayson Jay Gamarcha, 23; Beboy Eno, 20, and a 17-year-old boy.

An altercation ensued between the two groups and one of the suspects allegedly shot Ronamo in the head using an improvised firearm.

Ronamo was rushed to a hospital, where he expired the following day.

Vargas said Eno and the minor-suspect, whose name was withheld, were arrested in their respective houses while Gamarcha is still at-large.

Both suspects alleged that Gamarcha shot the victim, Vargas said. However, since they were with Gamarcha when the crime was committed, they are also liable for the incident.

Vargas said murder charges will be filed against the three suspects. The minor-suspect was turned over to the Social Development Center (SDC).
