Minor reshuffling at Iloilo police command

Several chiefs of police in Iloilo province might be relieved from their post in the coming days.

But their relief has nothing to do with the assumption of Colonel Ronaldo Palomo as director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

“A few will end their maximum two-year tour of duty. Others have not passed the minimum requirement in rank,” according to Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson.

Even Araño, the outgoing Pavia police chief, will also be affected by the reshuffling following his designation as IPPO spokesperson.

Among those who are expected to vacate their post are Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Pamonag of Passi City Police Station, Major Dadje Delima of Calinog Municipal Police Station, and  Major Myles Dieron of Cabatuan MPS.

There are reports that Delima would take over Araño’s vacated post at Pavia MPS while Dieron might replace Delima.

On the other hand, Lieutenant Colonel Aron Palomo is said to eye Passi City PS after he recently vacated his post as head of Roxas City PNP.

Araño said they might also look for someone to take over Ajuy MPS after town mayor Jett Rojas requested a new chief of police.

He added that the IPPO Placement Board will also be reviewing the rank eligibility of chiefs of police.

Those who only have the rank of police lieutenant might be a candidate for relief.

It can be noted that when Palomo assumed post, he said that he won’t institute revamp unless needed.

He also mentioned about assessing the performance of chiefs of police and other field commanders to ascertain if they would stay in their posts.
