Following the flag ceremony at Iloilo City Hall, Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) personally turned over a portable shower room to the Iloilo City Government.
The turnover was conducted by MPIW Chief Operating Officer Mr. Angelo David Berba, who handed the unit to Mayor Raisa Trenas.
This initiative underscores MPIW’s commitment to supporting the city’s disaster preparedness programs and providing practical sanitation solutions for the community, especially during emergencies.
Mayor Trenas expressed her appreciation for the partnership, highlighting how initiatives like this help strengthen disaster preparedness, public health, and overall community resilience across Iloilo City.
“This will ensure proper sanitation not only by providing static tanks and jerry cans para at least yung mga evacuees makaligo, yun talaga ang intention nito,” said Mr. Berba.
He added, “This is just the start. This just symbolizes our commitment to the city government by supporting them sa mga efforts nila during calamities.”
The mobile shower room is a prototype, with plans to provide more units so that all major evacuation centers in the city will have access to proper hygiene facilities during emergencies.
In addition, MPIW dedicates a specific water tanker to do rounds in evacuation centers during calamities to ensure a consistent supply of water for hygiene and sanitation.
The turnover highlights the continuing collaboration between the local government and private sector in advancing health, sanitation, and disaster readiness for all Ilonggos. (Advertorial)
