The Meralco Bolts just locked in their future with top rookie draft pick Alvin Pasaol by signing him to a two-year deal.
Known to be “Mr. Do-it-All” with his all-around game, Pasaol was the country’s no. 2 player in the 3×3 scene behind Joshua Munzon who was the no. 1 draft pick in this year’s rookie class.
Meralco’s head coach Norman Black then expressed how excited he is to work with the multi-talented Pasaol and see how he fits in with the system.
The addition of Pasaol will only beef up and boost the Bolts’ front-court rotation with the likes of Allein Maliksi, Bong Quinto, Reynel Hugnatan, and Raymond Almazan still playing for the team this season.
Aside from the paint presence that Pasaol can bring to the table, the 6-foot-2 swingman will also provide the much-needed scoring that the team badly needs.
Meralco was the second-worst offensive team during the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup bubble edition and only managed to score 88.4 points per game.
Pasaol is a gifted scorer who can attack the interior, post-up, or spot up for an outside shot that can cause a lot of mismatches on the court.
During his last 5-on-5 stint in the MPBL under the Zamboanga Sardines, Pasaol averaged 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
