BACOLOD City – Grudges triggered an alleged mentally-ill man to kill his father inside their house in Barangay Felisa here last Sunday.
The victim was identified as Jose De Leon, 55.
Police Major Richard Fajarito, head of Police Station 10, said the 22-year-old suspect went violent when he saw his father allegedly hurting his grandmother.
Fajarito said the suspect’s anger towards his father was probably triggered when he saw his grandmother wounded.
“Ang tatay abi sang bata (suspect), kung makainom kuno, gina sakit niya iya iloy, nga among lola ka bata,” he added.
The suspect allegedly stabbed and hacked his father with a hoe and a knife. The weapons were recovered from the scene, according to the police.
Fajarito said the victim’s family is willing to press charges against the suspect, who is detained at Police Station 10.
