A mentally challenged woman was found dead afternoon of July 28, 2022 in Dingle, Iloilo.
The body of Romalyn Depaor, 39, Barangay Balighot, Maayon, Capiz, was fished out of the Jalaur River at Barangay Tinocuan, Dingle, Iloilo.
Lieutenant Aileen Lacrite, Dingle police chief, said there was no superficial injury found on the victim’s body.
It took several hours before her body was identified.
According to her father, Depaor went into depression following her mother’s death in 1997.
The woman has been known to roam aimlessly in Roxas City and some parts of Capiz.
A few days ago, she was allegedly spotted in Passi City, Iloilo.
Lacrite said that the victim could have likely died of drowning.
Depaor was also believed to have been dead for 2-3 days when found.
Lacrite said they recommended that an autopsy be done but the victim’s father has declined.
