ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Charges for alarm and scandal were filed against the brother of incumbent Dumalag, Capiz Mayor Amado Eriberto Castro and his friend after they allegedly fired a gun Sunday evening at Barangay Sto. Niño, Dumalag.
Barangay Kagawad Dennis Lusaya said the charges were filed before the Provincial Prosecutors Office against Elijah Ben Ari Castro, 39, and his friend Mark Jonel Firman, 29.
According to Lusaya, several residents lodged a complaint with the barangay hall regarding the alleged illegal gun firing incident.
The kagawad said he and the police went to the house of Firman where they caught the duo drinking liquor.
The police also recovered from the possession of Castro a sling bag with the .38-caliber revolver with six empty shells. They were then arrested.
It was discovered that the two were drunk when the alleged illegal discharge of firearm happened.
The two suspects were detained at Dumalag Municipal Police Station.
