Mayor says ambulance use is free of charge

BACOLOD City – Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Negros Occidental said on Feb 28, 2019 that the use of ambulance especially when bringing patients to the hospital is free of charge.

“We don’t charge even for gasoline,” Mangilimutan told reporters in an interview after the blessing of five newly acquired vehicles of the town.

Kabankalan Bishop Louie Galbines led the blessing of the vehicles which coincided with the fiesta of Senora Nuestra de Salvacion, patron saint of Barangay Cabacungan.

The question surfaced after Mangilimutan said that aside from the five vehicles, the municipal government will buy another ambulance to augment the three existing ones.

She said that even neighboring towns could borrow their ambulances during emergency situations.

“It is free of charge,” she reiterated.

Mangilimutan said that the towns of Isabela, Moises Padilla and even Don Salvador Benedicto have once requested the use of the town’s ambulances.

“We are glad to be of help and it’s free,” she added.
