This is the second time that the mayor has undergone a swab test in one week.
On Thursday morning, the mayor announced that he will be subjected to a Covid-19 test following the recommendations of his doctor after he experienced stuffy nose, sore throat and body aches.
While he said that the symptoms might be due to his chronic rhinitis, still he subjected himself to the test to be safe.
Last Monday, he also underwent a swab test after an exposure to a positive case. The swab test also turned out negative.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases in the region are still rising with 128 new cases recorded last Wednesday.
A total 51 new cases were also recorded on Thursday bringing the regional total to 25,190 cases.
Out of the 51 new cases, 24 are from Iloilo province, 17 are from Iloilo City, 8 from Negros Occidental and 2 from Guimaras province. (ERS)
