BACOLOD CITY – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod has installed Fire Superintendent Jenny Mae Masip as the new fire marshal.
In an order dated June 10, signed by Fire Chief Superintendent Felixberto Abrenica, BFP-6 director, Masip, who was the deputy provincial fire marshal of BFP-Negros Occidental, was reassigned as acting fire marshal of Bacolod.
She replaced outgoing Fire Chief Inspector Stephen Jardeleza, who served the Bacolod City Fire Station for one year and three months since March 2023. Jardeleza was transferred to BFP-Iloilo as its deputy provincial fire marshal.
In an interview with iFM Bacolod, Masip said Jardeleza was placed on light duty status as he is about to retire from the service.
Masip said she plans to intensify fire safety inspections pursuant to the fire code during her tenure.
