Market under lockdown due to upsurge in COVID cases

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The public market of President Roxas, Capiz was placed under lockdown effective Sunday afternoon due to the upsurge in cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Mayor Receliste “Tanoy” Escolin on Sunday asked ambulant vendors to bring home all their products as the whole establishment was disinfected.

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The public market of President Roxas, Capiz was placed under lockdown effective Sunday afternoon due to the upsurge in cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Mayor Receliste “Tanoy” Escolin on Sunday asked ambulant vendors to bring home all their products as the whole establishment was disinfected.
Escolin issued Executive Order No. 31 declaring Sitio Swa-C near the public market a critical zone.
The mayor also requested principals of elementary and secondary schools to cancel the distribution of modules to prevent the spread of the virus.
Earlier, more than 30 employees of a grocery store inside the public market tested positive for COVID-19.
At present, the town has 17 active cases of COVID-19.
