One quick left.
That was the only thing Said Nurmagomedov needed to put Mark Striegl on the ground.
After 51 seconds of action in just the first round of UFC Fight Island 6: Ortega vs The Korean Zombie, Nurmagomedov finished the legendary Filipino Mixed Martial Artist.
Coming in full of confidence in his UFC debut, Striegl tried to take charge early on and began to unload a flurry of punches and leg kicks to set the tempo for the bout.
However, as he started his attack moving forward, Striegl was caught by a huge left hook which caused him to drop to the canvas and shield himself against the series of combinations Nurmagomedov threw.
Striegl then held to Nurmagomedov’s leg after getting knocked down which left his body open to the Russian star’s vicious body blows.
For several seconds, Striegl was able to survive the Nurmagomedov onslaught but was put to sleep after a final left that ended the bout.
With the win, Nurmagomedov improved to 14-2 and already recorded his third win in the UFC with two coming by way of knockout.
For the PH pride, he is under UFC’s four-fight contract and will still have three more bouts to redeem himself and bounce back from his tough opener.
