ROXAS CITY, Capiz – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is scheduled to lead the mass oath-taking of teachers and school heads under the Department of Education Region 6’s Expanded Career Progression Program on Monday, April 27.
The ceremony is set for 8 a.m. at Villareal Stadium in Roxas City, Capiz.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara will administer the oath.
Marcos is also expected to deliver a keynote address encouraging educators to further strengthen the quality of education for learners.
The provincial government of Capiz earlier began preparations for the mass oath-taking of thousands of newly promoted teachers and school heads from across Western Visayas.
Gov. Fredenil H. Castro met with Roel F. Bermejo, schools division superintendent of DepEd-Capiz, to discuss preparations for the event.
The ceremony was originally scheduled for April 19, 2026, but was moved because of the celebration of Capiztahan 2026 and the National Festival of Talents.
The event is expected to gather about 8,829 participants.
Attendees will include newly promoted educators from several schools division offices, including Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Iloilo, Iloilo City, Passi City, and Roxas City.
Officials said the scale of the ceremony could make it one of the largest mass oath-taking events for educators in the country.
