The Manila Chooks 3×3 squad is now cleared to leave the Philippines for Montreal, Canada and participate in the upcoming 2021 FIBA 3×3 Montreal Masters.
Manila’s magic five of Mark Yee, Mac Tallo, Zachary Huang, Dennis Santos, and reserve player Chico Lanete all tested negative in their RT-PCR tests and are battle-ready to take on the biggest basketball quintets of the world.
The Philippine representatives are eyeing a better world stage finish after ending the 2021 Doha Masters without a win five months ago.
For the Manila players, it will be a fun learning experience as they are still finding their groove and still building their chemistry as one unit.
Upon arrival, the team will again undergo RT-PCR testing and will have their quarantine at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.
Yee, Tallo, Huang, Santos, and Lanete will be playing in Pool D alongside powerhouse teams world no. 8 Antwerp of Belgium and no. 10 Edmonton of Canada.
“Gustong-gusto naming bumawi kasi nabitin kami nung Doha Masters. Every win and every point counts for us para makakuha tayo ng points para sa Olympics,” said Lanete.
