Two brothers are on the run after killing a 35-year old man in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo late afternoon of Aug 18, 2020.
Police Captain Ken Albert Lepsia, Barotac Viejo police chief, identified the suspects as Ike and Ian Salbadico, both residents of Barangay Natividad, Barotac Viejo.
The Salbadicos allegedly planned to kill Rogelio Navarro Jr., 35, also a resident of Natividad village.
Navarro allegedly came from his mother’s house at a housing facility in Barangay Vista Alegre when the incident occurred.
The two brothers also have a unit in the same housing project.
Navarro was walking when one of the suspects caught his attention. The other suspect then approached and repeatedly shot him at close range.
Lepsia said it is possible that both brothers fired a gun.
Navarro suffered seven gunshot injuries.
He was rushed to the town’s hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspects immediately fled on board a motorcycle.
Lepsia said they are looking at old grudges as the motive of the killing.
“There had been bad blood going on between them after the victim allegedly stabbed Ike,” he said.
Lepsia revealed that the victim was previously charged in court but managed to settle the cases.
