BACOLOD City – Robbery charges were filed on Tuesday against a 55-year-old man who allegedly held up a 28-year-old Indian national in Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Based on the investigation, the female victim was collecting loan payment from a client when the suspect identified as Roberto Treyes allegedly threatened her at knifepoint and declared the stickup.
Treyes then allegedly carted away her collection amounting to P3,000 and cellular phone.
Lieutenant Marion Vincent Buenaflor, deputy police chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the victim tailed the suspect and called for police assistance.
Buenaflor said that police called the victim’s cellular phone to confirm if it was with the suspect.
Upon confirmation, police then arrested Treyes at his residence and recovered from him the stolen item and cash.
Treyes is detained at Talisay City Police Station.
